Dear students and Faculty,
At Lumos Language School, your health and safety are our top priorities. With that in mind, we wanted to give you a few updates about the COVID-19 vaccine and also let you know that we will continue to require face masks after the state mandate lifts on April 10.
In just a few short months, we’ve made a lot of progress. Seventeen percent of Utah’s population is now fully vaccinated, and the numbers are rising as more vaccine arrives weekly. Lumos Language School is proud to support the state’s efforts to eliminate the risks of COVID-19. If you have not been vaccinated, we encourage you to schedule an appointment and take the first available spot.
While we’ve made great strides, the pandemic is not over. Utah still has moderate levels of transmission, and we’re seeing a significant uptick in a highly contagious variant of the virus that causes COVID-19. That’s why we will continue to require face masks at all times in our school.
Getting back to normal safely is our goal. We need to do everything we can to prevent transmission of the virus, especially to our most vulnerable students and teachers. Once a significantly higher percentage of our population is vaccinated and case rates drop significantly, we will re-examine our policies.
If you have questions about masking or the COVID-19 vaccine, I encourage you to reach out to your adviser to have a conversation.
We want you to know that, as an academic institution, we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of teaching in a safe environment. We ask tough questions, conduct research, and then create new knowledge. We do this because we’re enable your success.
Thank you for trusting us with your education.
